Discover what it is like to work with (or as) a Virtual Assistant with Sarah Allman
Join me in a conversation with my friend, Sarah Allman. She is my AMAZING Virtual Assistant and we discuss some ways business owners can take the leap into hiring help and where to begin if you want to start your own VA side hustle.
Sarah and I connected through Christy Wright's Business Boutique Facebook group when I decided to take a leap and hire outside of those I personally know.
This was a HUGE step (way out of my comfort zone) to take and I had to constantly fight the urge to seek security by hiring someone I knew. Sarah explains that this is often a big leap and common obstacle that business owner have before hiring their first VA.
I was blown away in Sarah’ interview when she said she had a heart for abused women and wanted a way to help others. She founded A Place No Man Can Follow where she helps women dare to dream again and hide their broken hearts in the One who created them.
How cool is it to see God bring her and I together and have our missions so much aligned? Having a vision for a women's ministry of my own, I see that God has something amazing in store.
Do you ever feel goosebumps when you see little things falling into place you know God orchestrated? I felt them all over again when we were together again during this real talk conversation.
Three big takeaways for those who like the cliff note version...
Trust can be built over time. When you hire a VA, it is ok to take things slow. As the relationship progresses, it gets easier. Start with the little things or the things you really hate to do.
Communication is key. Don't be afraid to acknowledge the elephants and over communicate in the beginning of the relationship.
The best way to move forward is to stretch yourself. You CAN do hard things. Get out of the comfort zone and don't be afraid to navigate new waters.
If you have ever wondered if being a Virtual Assistant could add extra income for your family, what you should charge or what to do if you have no experience, then you must tune in. And, if you are looking to hire a virtual assistant, check out Sarah! I love her and I think you will too.
